ART Works: The Throwdown

Mobile Arts Council is gearing up for their annual fund raising event. Along with a variety of artistic auction items available, from paintings to meal packages, there will be a fun twist - The Throwdown!

Borrowing concepts from Food Network's hugely successful shows "Iron Chef" and "Chopped", five artists will each be given a box with pre-selected unknown items, a shared supply closet and 90 minutes to create five new works of art. The art will be auctioned in a live bidding process that evening.

The five competing artist are: Nancy Raia, Jim Hayward, Lucy Gafford, Bruce Larsen and Colleen Comer. Commentary will be provided by WKRG's John Nodar.

In addition to a silent auction and the Throwdown, there will be live music by The Suzies, food from Carrabba's, plenty of beer and wine, MAC's signature cocktail: Red Roosters, and lots of interesting people and fun!

ART Works is our largest annual fund raiser, and all proceeds go to support our mission of bringing people and art together.
